‘Space to Roam’ was inspired by my admiration for the incredibly dynamic and unique landscapes in the American Southwest. My intention with this project was not to necessarily focus on the astronaut, but rather to showcase the otherworldly scenery found in Southwestern America’s public lands in hopes of protecting them.

Recently, an ex oil & gas lobbyist was appointed to lead the US Interior Department…a huge threat to America’s public lands. I strongly feel like we need to preserve them for future generations to experience. When I’m visiting locations such as these, I not only have feelings of admiration and appreciation for the unique land, but also a strong sense of being wild that I believe to be so enriching and something everyone should have the opportunity to experience.

This project is dedicated to the people who preserve the history of and protect our public lands which give us space to roam. ‘Space to Roam’ is also in honor of ‘astronaut’ Kyle Hague’s grandmother who unfortunately passed away during production.
