I feel like capturing wider images of a place that I spent time in used to be my first instinct when it came to nature photography. Over the years, I’ve both challenged myself creatively and re-inspired myself to focus on smaller details. The following is a brief collection of some of my favorite small scene photographs shot in temperate rainforests in the Pacific Northwest as well as other forests around the world.
Instead of focusing on photographing a wider place, my eye has gravitated towards the way light interacts with simplistic scenes to create beautiful moments on a small scale.
